An investigation of patent-intensive industries and government development strategy: evidence from China

Purpose The number of patents in China has grown rapidly recent years. purpose this paper is to investigate how impact economic development China. Design/methodology/approach This developed an empirical model by using panel data 42 China's patent-intensive industries the contribution made Chinese manufacturing industries. Findings found that intensity valid strongly positively related growth. yearly added presented inverse U-shaped and a curve with economy China’s correlativity mainly depended on whether patent converges near indicators. Meanwhile, from perspective input–output efficiency, for industries, R&D institutes were overinvested, followed staff. Originality/value Investigating influence quite complex research. Existing studies have focused protection legal systems, but not provided definitive answer what real is. study sought narrow gap perspective.
